Jenner was a football player at college for the team named Graceland Yellowjackets while she incurred a injury in the knee which required surgery. Jenner was born to Esther Ruth and William Hugh Jenner in Mount Kisco at New York. Bruce attended high school in Sleepy Hollow, New York in Sleepy Hollow High School for the freshman years. For the junior and senior years, Jenner studied in Newtown High School in Newtown, Connecticut while graduating in 1968.
Though Bruce had suffered a knee injury in the former years of her life, but coach persuaded Jenner to go for the decathlon.
