Early life
She was born on June 15, 1959 in a town called Artesia in the State of California in the United States.
She was born into a big catholic family so she has six more siblings, two brothers and four sisters.
Her father Richard died in 1981, when she was 32 years old, and her mother Charlotte remarried later.
She went to a Catholic High School but after two years she moved to Corona Del Mar High School.
Career development
Her career started by becoming a model and shooting fashion covers.She soon became a very knpwn face and phptographs were very interested in working with her. In the same time she started taking acting classes, hoping to find her way to the top.
Her acting career started the same as for many actors: on stage. She acted in productions sucha as “Born Yesterday”. The theater was a very good way for her to learn about acting and to get better at it.
The 1982 was her breaktgrough year when she was chosen to play a role in a very famous show called “The Young and the Restless”. She played a role of a woman called Ashley until 1988 when she left the show.

In 1983 she starred in a horror movie “The House of Sorority Row”.
She tried herself in hosting her own show “Broken Badges” but not with some special success. The show was canceled in a very short time.

She hasn’t stopped only on acting, but she began to do some serious writing. She wrote and published four novels in cooperation with another writer named Robert J. Randisi.
All of the books she co-wrote are about Alexis Peterson, a soap opera star eho is solving murders and plays a role of a detective. So she used her knowledge of soap operas and earned on them.
In the next few years she was going in and out from both TV series: “The Young and The Restless” and “Days of our Lives”.
In 2014 she won an Emmy for a Leading Actress in that series.

Eileen’s first marriage lasted very short: from 1985 to 1986 to an actor Christopher Mayer.
Her second husband was also a soap opera actor Jon Lindstrom. She was married to him from 1997-2000.
Her third marriage is with Vincent van Patten. They are still married and have only one child, a son named Jesse. She gave birth to him wen she was 41 years old.
Vincent is a very good looking former tennis player, today a very good poker player. He has two sons from his ex marriage and they both live with them.
She tried herself in another creative area exept writing: in clothes designing. She launched a clothin line with her niece Devon Marlt called “Femmeology”.
Her best friend is Lisa Fanjoy, her own double in the series “Days of our lives”. They became friends on the set and connected in a great way.
