Jon Taffer was born on November 7, 1954 in Great Neck, New York. He grew up in Great Neck and graduated from William A. Shine Great Neck South High School. After finishing high school, he decided to continue his education at the University of Denver.
He studied political science for several semesters and then transferred to Los Angeles. Even though he studied political science, he ended up doing something completely different but highly successful.
Career
After graduating from college, he decided to try out his talent as a bar consultant in one bar in Hollywood. He never intended to do this kind of work, but he ended up managing a bar. After few years of working as a bar manager he ended up opening his first bar in 1989.
He is also the inventor of the term NFL Sunday Ticket and the idea came to him after working for NFL Enterprises. During his years in bar management, he invented a lot of other terms and concepts. Some of them are now the base of every good bar managing practice.
