Milica Bogdanovna “Milla” Jovovich was born on December 17, 1975 in Kiev, Ukrainian. She is a daughter of a Serb Bogic Jovovich and Russian actress Galina Jovovich. The family emigrated in 1980 from SSSR to London, when Milla was only 5 years old. Later, they moved to Los Angeles.
Milla claims that she was never accepted as a stranger in school, although she quickly becomes fluent in English. That cause her rebellious teenage when she has a drugs and fraud issues. When she has 19 years, she became US citizen.

Milla s first marriage happened when she was only 16 years old. Her husband was an actor Shawn Andrews. This marriage lasted only two months, as her mother annul it.

Between 1985 and 19993 Mila slowly seeped into the world of acting. Her movie debut was in The Night Train to Kathmandu ( 1988 ). In the same year, she took the role in erotic thriller Two Moon Junction. Another lead role she gains in 1991 in the romance film Return to the Blue Lagoon. Thanks to this role she was nominated for Best Young Actress at The Young Artist Award.
After disappointment for her reduced role in film Dazed and Confused, Milla turns to the music. She released two folk rock albums: The Divine Comedy and The People Tree Sessions.
Her acting comeback was in world sci-fi hit The Fifth Element co-starring with Bruss Willis. The role of Leeloo brings her nominations for Favorite Female Newcomer and MTV Awards Best Fight.
