Benzino is an American rapper, producer and record executive.
He is best known for his rap career and his estimated net worth is around 10$ million.
Raymond Scott was born on October 24, 1964 in Boston, Massachusetts, U.S. his parents are Puerto Rican. Growing up in Boston he had a dream of becoming a rapper and even during school years he practiced his lines and joined several groups.
Starting a rap career back in 1964 was not easy, but Benzino made up his mind that he will make it. He founded the group Almighty RSO at first but soon transferred to Made Men. Being in a group brought his talent to media attention and he soon had enough skill to try it as a solo artist.
The debut of the group Almighty RSO was in 1986 and the song was a kick-start for the group.
One of the songs from his group Almighty RSO brought in a lot of controversy because it featured text about policeman murders. Being close to the co-owner of The Source, his career was often pushed back because everybody thought he promoted his music by himself. The Source was a hip-hop magazine that promoted hip-hop and rap artists and gave critical opinions about the newly released songs.
His solo career started in 2001 and his album had a lot of famous guests on it. Some of the songs even got recognition from the critics but his reputation got him the less recognition he maybe deserved for his extraordinary musical talent.
The last album for now, from Benzino, was released in 2007 and since then he has been concentrated on his producing career.
In 2012 he became a member of the Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta, and the show is still running. The show follows hip hop celebrities in their day to day life, in the same way many other similar reality show does. He has a supporting role in the show, which means he appeared in three seasons as a guest star.
Benzino also appeared in the Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars and The Next:15 and in Hollywood Hearts in 2016.
He is the creator of Hip Hop Weekly and does publishing. He is also a producer and a music executive, which only adds in to his already impressive net worth.
Benzino’s private life has often been in the media because of his feuds with other artists. One of the most famous feuds was the one with Eminem. He often bashed Eminem in his songs and disliked the idea of white MCs.
During the feud, artists exchanged several songs on their albums dedicated to insulting one another. Some of the songs became big hits, so at least something positive came out of it.
The feud ended up with a lawsuit. Throughout his career he had many other lawsuits, including the one with The Source. The Source later filed for bankruptcy.
He dated a lot of beautiful women and during filming of the Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta, he dated Karlie Redd. The couple attracted a lot of attention but the relationship didn’t last for long. They remained friends and in contact even after the show.
In 2014, he attracted the attention of the media when he was shot by his nephew during his mother’s funeral. Benzino was shot in the arm, and luckily no bigger harm was done.
He has three children. Two of his sons are in the show business career and his oldest daughter is married and has children. Benzino’s oldest son collaborated with Stevie J’s son. Benzino is currently dating Althea Heart. He even posted images on his social media, where she has a ring, so a wedding can be expected.
It is safe to say that Benzino is more famous because of his shadiness and less for his music career. Even though he exists as a musician for a long time, his often feuds with other colleagues, are something that brought him fame and this impressive net worth.
