Early life

Susan Victoria Lucci was born on December 23, 1946 in Scarsdale, New York. She is a daughter of an Italian building contractor Victor Lucci ( he is first generation American ) and Jeanette Granquist. Throughout her mother, Susan has German, Swedish and  French ancestry.

Susan graduated in 1964 Garden City High School and has a BA degree in Drama, that she earned from Marymount College in 1968.

Personal life

Susan is married to businessman Helmut Huber from Austria. They have two kids: soap opera singer Liza Huber ( 1975 ) and professional golfer Andreas Huber.

Susan  has four grandchildren: Royce Alexander, Brendan, Hayden Victoria and Mason Alexander.

Acting career

The role that made her famous is the role of Erica Kane in  ABC soap opera All My Children. Susan plays this role since her debut January 16, 1970, until the last episode on September 23, 2011. The character of Erica is assigned as the most popular in soap opera history.

Susan was 18 times nominated for Emmy Award – Outstanding Lead  Actress in a Drama Series and finally won in 1999. After 41 on the air, the president of ABC Brian Frons canceled All My Children.

In 1982 she has a cameo role in comedy film Young Doctors in Love. Four years later, she took the role of Darya Romanoff in the movie Anastasia: The Mystery of Anna.

At the beginning of the 90s, Susan started her host career. She hosted, during the October 1991, television sketch comedy Saturday Night Live – where she once appeared as Erica Kane. At the same time, she has numerous guest spots in primetime soap opera  Dallas ( 1978 – 1991 ).

In drama fantasy movie Miracle at Christmas: Ebbie’s Story from 1995, Susan took the lead role of businesswoman Elizabeth “Ebbie” Scrooge. She also played in revival musical Annie Get Your Gun, where she received excellent critics.

In 2004 she has two appearances in American sitcom Hope & Faith.

In TV Land’s series  Hot in Cleveland ( 2010 ), Susan has several appearances as herself, and one episode is named after her: Life with Lucci. Similar guest appereances, Susan has in drama series Army Wives ( 2007 – 2013 ).

On September 28, 2012, Susan launched and presented documentary tv series Deadly Affairs. She was a host, where she talk about a love story that ended up deadly. The series has three sessions, until 2014.

Susan was a competitor in dance competition series Dancing with the Stars,  during the 7th season. Her partner was  Albanian-American ballroom dancer Driton “Tony” Dovolani.

On March 29, 2010, Susan released her autobiography All My Life: A Memoir.
