Early Life
Goran Dragic is a Slovenian basketball player who born on 6th May 1986 at Ljubljana. His mother was Slovenian when his father was Serbian. During childhood, he used to play football; but an injury changed his fate, and he became the famous NBA basketball player.
He is the professional basketball player of Miami Heat of NBA (National Basketball Association). He is a great player as he played in both the positions- the point guard and the shooting guard positions. But, before entering the NBA, he was a professional basketball player in Spain and Slovenia. Finally, in 2008, he entered NBA. Besides the Miami Heat, he had played twice for the Phoenix Suns and also for the Houston Rockets. He was the most improved player in NBA in 2014.
Career
Only at the age of 17, he decided to take basketball as his career and started playing professionally from 2003. He was selected in the Slovenian Second Basketball League along with KD Ilirija. He continued playing there for one year and then got transferred to the Slovenian Basketball League and Adriatic League Club Slovan. He spent two long years with Slovan and then again transferred to the Spanish club, Saski Baskonia. They loaned him to club Murcia in 2006.
In 2007, he joined the Slovenian club, Union Olimpija and continued playing there up to 2008. He also secured the winning of the Slovenian League Championship for his team.
This was his career in Europe. He was aiming to join NBA from the beginning. In 2008, he joined NBA draft and got selected in the second round by the San Antonio Spurs. He was the 45th pick by the club. Then, his draft right was exchanged to the Phoenix Suns with the draft right of Malik Hariston, the 48th Pick. Suns was in contract with TAU Ceramica and at the end of that, they signed Dragic on 22 September 2008. Suns assumed that Dragic would be the best choice at the position of Steve Nash on the point guard position. The year 2010 was immensely successful for Dragic as he scored 32 points by hitting 6 of 7 three-pointers against the Utah Jazz.
Till 2010, he performed well for the Suns, and the NBA trade deadline came in 2011 when he was traded to the Houston Rockets on 24th February. While playing for Rockets, he scored the first triple-double of his career against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
In 2012, he became an unrestricted free agent. It made him sign a four-year contract of $30 million with the Phoenix Suns, and again he became an official member of the team from 19th July 2012. Presently, he is playing for the Miami Heats, where his brother, Zoran has also joined. While playing with the Miami Heat, he scored 34 points in a 112-101 game and won against the Washington Wizards. This is the highest score of his career as the member of the Heat.

Dragic got married to his longtime girlfriend, Maja on August 2013. In November, his eldest son, Mateo was born.
