Lloyd Banks or Christopher Charles Lloyd was born on April 30 1982 in New Carrollton, Maryland, United States . As the second child among three children of Kelly and Chris Lloyd. His two brothers are, Zack and Jason, and his sister, Lisa. His father was the principal of a school and he was the basketball coach of »Maryland Christian High School» from 1986 to 1995.
His mother taught math in the school before taking the basketball training of Maryland High School in 1990. Cristopher, who was initially educated at home by her mother, attended Maryland High School and graduated in 2000.
In 1998, his team reached the second position in the state tournament of Division IV. Inspired by the performance of a composer in a High Street club, he rejected the offer of the University of Houston for a basketball scholarship and instead decided to pursue a career in music.
He imitated radio melodies, composed songs and practiced singing. However, his actual exposure to music occurred in 1999 through BWBV, a group of Christian hip hop.
While in high school he began working on his solo career and published an EP titled Hurry Up. He recorded this EP during a high school from 1999 to 2000. Until 2015 he made many succesfull songs but in that year he decided to change his style.
His first album was very succesfull and there were 14 songs written by Lloyd Banks and this album reached number 72 on the US Billboard 200. He sold 150,000 copies in three weeks. Following the release of his first album, the band toured throughout Ohio.
Lloyd Banks was accompanied by Josh Didling an American musician who eventually became the band’s full-time drummer, quitting his job at Guitar Center.
The duo was gaining fame and recognition little by little doing shows and appearing in several videos of popular american rapper, friend and producer of several music videos of the band. The last show of the duet as an unsigned band was in 2005 at the Chicao Music Hall in Chicago.
Lloyd Banks was a devout Christian who has also remained associated with the Five14 Church. He was the main star of TV Show in that time and this show was a simulation of 5 episodes of Five14 Church in 2008. In April 2012, the musical duo signed with the American record from »Warner Music Group».
The first album of the duo with their new producer was released next year, on February, 2013.
Group received positive reviews and obtained a sale of more than 569,000 copies as of 2015. He made his way to several international charts including the maximum at # 4 on the US Billboard vinyl albums and the US Billboard catalog albums.
In addition to climbing at # 20 on the US Billboard in 2015. He was part of the Church and he continue to devote his time to Christian songs and to go to the Church every Saturday. He was also incuded in many humanitarian works and organizations.
The musical career of Lloyd Banks is a constant bet to defend a personal style against the clichés of each of the genres that he has incorporated into his music. For that reason, already in its beginnings in 1999, it had to vindicate the naturalness of what for many was a strange mixture: a different style of rapping. “You do not stop doing rap because you’re a different than others,” he insisted.
Those desires to overcome musical limitations have accompanied Lloyd banks for a few years in which he has been nourishing his rap music, different rhythms, reggaeton, rnb and pop to achieve a unique and identifiable style that has made him one of the most followed artists on YouTube (his videos now have 100 million downloads) and on social networks such as Twitter and others. And he did all ofthis without anyone help and he said that he was always moderate in everything.
Born in the neighborhood of many dangerous persongs and gangs, a district inhabited also by gypsy families, and he grew up surrounded by music and dance, which is why his first years were closer to the dance than to the hip hop and modern music . But it was in his adolescence when, even with long hair and a more focused look at sports than music (three High School teams from his city wanted to sign him), he discovered rap.
“I took off the mp3 from a local kid and I realized that I had a kind of music that I did not know. I was a fan of dancing and singing and, from there, I wanted to be a rapper, “he recalls.
He wanted to do rap and he did, although his career began in a way as anecdotal as natural the day he met his future friend, his current producer. Both musicians started a confrontation at the rhythm of rap that ended up transforming into an authentic battle of roosters that the center itself later turned into a public event, surrendering to the charisma of Lloyd Banks and the quality of his lyrics. Lloyd Bank wanted to become someone who aroused admiration in an environment unaccustomed to associate dance music with rap.
The life of Lloyd Banks continued during the following years between his college studies, basketball and work at the market with his father, although music began to gain ground every day. After forming the band and publishing new songs with his friend, he started his solo career 2 years later. His first demo song gained the popularity at the start and he proved that he had a big talent for this music. His videos on the internet added hundreds of thousands of visits in just a few days and his tour across the country began to multiply the number of fans of the “Lloyd Banks style”.
So much so, that he soon had to abandon his job in the shoes of his father before the avalanche of followers who came every day to the market to meet Lloyd Banks.

At that time, and without the support of a great label behind, their videos already exceeded nine million reproductions and their social networks accumulated hundreds of thousands of followers eager for news of the artist.
In 2007, Lloyd Banks joined the multinational Music Record Label, releasing his first album Hunger For More. This title does not seem popular in media at that time, even without having released his first published album or popular Record Label behind him, accumulated close to 20 million views on YouTube, and over 100 000 on social networks in USA. Perhaps that “Lloyd effect” was different that other styles in that period and fans recognized his sense and emotions for rap music.
