Early life

30 November 1981 is the birth date of David Constantine Brooks (born November 30, 1981), Brook’s upbringing was in an area named as “Cuban,” a tiny place within the center of the city Kingston, situated in Jamaica’s Cassava community.

He received his lessons from his grandmother. She was the first pathfinder for him in the musical arena at very young age.  She used to bring him to church to take part in singing the hymns. But with the passage of time, he became interested in making some of the hit rap numbers and also famous for bringing the music of famous Bounty Killer that was his as initial experience and Mavado’s first inspiration.

During Mavado’s boyhood days his mentor Bounty became his only idol.When he just reached the age of 15, Bounty decided to take him under his group to show him the ladder to the world of music. He gives himself a stage name “Mavado” considering the Swiss watch company named Movado, just by altering the spelling.

Career

In March of the year 2008, the Songwriter came up with a featured performance of the track “Real McKoy.” This was for the trial of Grand Theft Auto Trailer IV #4 “Everyone’s a Rat.” The song was the most hit number along with his creation the song “Last Night” (being the part of the very same album named Gangsta for Life).It also got featured within the game broadcasted through radio station via the channel “Massive B Radio.” He also featured himself on the segment of G-Unit track and came up with the song ‘Let It Go’ along with the famous personality Tony Yayo, and it got scripted by Lloyd Banks for the album: T.O.S: Terminate on Sight in the year 2008. He was considered to be the only possible non G-Unit who got featured in this fabulous album.

In the year 2008 Mavado achieved the prestigious Award UK MOBO for the Best Reggae Act. In April 2010, Mavado got the opportunity to star as a gangster in the famous Drake’s song “Find Your Love” that was included in Drake’s album titled “Thank Me Later.” He went for collaborating with the famous Wyclef, Busta Rhymes, Ludacris, Fabolous, Birdman, Ace Hood, 50 Cent’s G-Unit, Akon, Snoop Dogg and JAY Z.

Mavado went for creating his distinctive label, Mansion Records, in the year 2011, which got debuted with the single “Delilah” that also received the mainstream US radio rotation along with Bounty Killer which he has cited as 2 Pac during his early childhood days and considered to be his only idol.  He compared the late rapper’s lifestyle to every pattern of his life’s direction. He was his godfather.

In the year 2011 Mavado made his record with the famous grime artist Chipmunk of the UK on the beautiful sound song “Every Gyal.” On September 1st, 2011, he made an appearance on the show hosted by Angie Martinez held in the New York’s Hot 97 radio station and announced that he signed a deal with famous DJ Khaled’s record label named ”We the Best Music Group.” Mavado then went for releasing the three more singles “Emergency” that featured Ace Hood, Soulja girl and got the hit number “Survivor” featured with Akon on “We the Best Music Group.”

In 2012, it got announced that Mavado will soon feature in the upcoming series of “Shottas 2” a fabulous sequel made to the Shottas movie, which also starred the eminent actor Ky-Mani Marley was co-supported by the man of repute, Spragga Benz. Last but not the least, in the year 2016, Mavado’s latest song “Progress” that got produced by The Mineral Boss Records released “Money Boss Riddim” and was featured in DJ Khaled’s “Major Key,” the most sold album of the year. It was a 14 track album.

Personal life

Mavado is married to his beautiful wife, Monique McKenzie. They got married secretly in the year 2012 in the United States. They are parents to two children, whom they named Vuitton and Daisy. Mavado is a father to three more children from his previous relationship.

The children are named Danielle and Dante who are twins and Gavyn. They are happily leading their life living all together.
