He was born in New York City and his father was Austrian-Jewish and his mother was an American. His father was a chemical engineer. His family moved to United Kingdom after his birth. He was an accountant and later joined in business with Alan Sugar after polishing his career as a turn around specialist. He was in agreement with his boss to become the chairman of Alan Sugar’s group of companies. He became the chairman as well as the chief executive of the companies like Amstrad International, Dancall Telecom, and Amstrad Spain.

He also worked as a non-executive chairman for the Azzurri Communications, also served as deputy chairman for Blacks Leisure Group from the year 2008 August to 2009 July. He also served as the executive chairman for ASCO, which is the International Oilfield Support Services Business from the year 2004 to 2007. He was also the non-executive director for Norton Way Motors Limited and Myeloma based in UK.

He served as non-executive director for the Amstrad from the year 2007. In the year 2009, his boss Alan Sugar has resigned from the director post of most of his companies which were based on UK and later these positions were handed over to Claude Littner which also included the post of chairman of Viglen.

He became more popular amongst the common people through the television series , The Apprentice, where he became famous for his style of interviewing the guests and in one occasion he got the chance to interview his own former boss, Alan Sugar. He was the only interviewer who was found in all series of The Apprentice.

In honour of him, the University of West London Business School was named as Claude Littner Business School in the year 2014, October which was a token of gratitude for the contributions he has made for the University and the opening and unveiling of the newly named business school was done by Alan Sugar.
