Eddie Bravo is an American martial arts instructor, he attracted public attention in 2003 when he was given a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu. Early life

Bravo was born in 1970 in Santa Ana, California. His biological parents were Mexicans, but he never had a good relationship with his parents.

As a child, he tried several times to escape from the house. His father was a strict man, he often beat and harassed his son. His mother was also a victim of violence, but she did not want to leave her husband. His mother did not have the support of her family, although she suffered various insults on her husband’s every day.

When Eddie was 10 years old, his father died. Although it was a very sad and painful moment in his life, Eddie was finally happy because he could live peacefully with his mother.

After several years, Eddie’s mother found a new boyfriend, Eddie was very happy about her mother. Her new partner was very close to Eddie, he was his great support, so his mother decided to get married again. Eddie was very close to his stepfather, they communicated openly, and his stepfather was his great support, so Eddie decided to change his last name in Bravo.

During the elementary school, Eddie was a great fan of music, so he started playing drums and guitar. His talent was noticed by the professor, so he often took part in various competitions. During High School, his professors noticed his talent in martial arts, so Eddie seriously devote himself to this sport. He joined the Wrestling team at school, and in the meantime played American football, he also played drums and guitar.

His sports career slowly started to progress, he participated in numerous competitions and won awards. In the meantime, Eddie, together with his friends, founded the Blackened Kill Symphony band. After participated at UFC, Bravo decided to become a Jiu-Jitsu practitioner, this sport awoke a special energy in him.

Eddie had a big respect for the work of Jean Jacques Machado, who was the founder of the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, his work was recognized throughout the world and he was one of the most influential people in this sport.

Career

When he became a Machado student, Eddie realized how demanding this sport was. He wanted to completely dedicate to this sport, so he decided to stop with all other activities. He temporarily stopped playing music, and decided to devote his energy to Jiu-Jitsu.

Machado had a great influence on his student, he helped him to improve his skills, to get to know himself and to free his emotions. During the days he spent with his teacher, Eddie completely changed his thinking, became a different person, freed his fears and renewed his inner energy.

As time went by, Eddie began to understand himself and his personality, he had a clear goal, and that was becoming a new Jiu-Jitsu practitioner and forming his own category in this sport.

After two years, Eddie got a blue karate belt, and only a year after that, he got a purple belt. In 2003 Eddie for the first time participated in a major competition, in the World Championship in Wrestling. After winning in this competition Eddie won the black belt in karate. A few months after winning the black belt, Eddie decided to realize his dream and become a Jiu-Jitsu practitioner.

In that period, Eddie felt that he was ready for a new chapter in his career. Many of his friends and colleagues believed that Eddie could make big changes in this sport, and that his techniques and thoughts were quite different from his colleagues. In 2004 Eddie founded the first school of 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu, his school was founded in Los Angeles, and after a few years Eddie expanded this sport, and opened numerous sports halls throughout America.

After opening his own school, Eddie decided to withdraw from the competition, he wanted to dedicate his energy to this sport and to help his students. However, in 2014 he played the match with Gracie, the match ended with an equalized result.

After the match, Eddie said that he did not invest too much in this game, and that he was more focused on other things in his life. After this match, Eddie decided to introduce novelties into his sport, he decided to organize various competitions in order to attract as many people as possible to train this sport.
