Jacob Tapper is a creator from the United States of America. He is a writer and an author and he is in charge of creating on a famous new channel called CNN. He has a show called The Lead with Jake Tapper which made him very famous and very well known. Besides this show which is a more of a news show, he has a talk show called State of the Union and there he gers to talk about variuos subjects that are currently trending.
Before this, he worked for the ABC News and his work was honored by The White House which meant a lot to this particular author. He also has many awards for his work, some of them being three of his famous Merriman Smith Memorial Awards. It is all for broadcast journalism.
He decided to be one of the few men in charge of broadcasting and live covering the famous event of Obama’s inauguration and this did earn him much more than respect from his colleagues: he got an Emmy.
Besides this famous event, another one he got famous for was the death of Osama bin Laden which he covered in various broadcasting shows as the Death of the World’s Biggest Enemy.
He made a book called The Outpost: An Untold Story of American Valor and it ended up on the NYT Bestsellers. He got a Medal of Honor and earned himself a “Tex” McCrary medal for this creating he did.
Early years
Jacob Paul Tapper is his full name, but he doesn’t like to use it for the news as it isn’t catchy enough, he claims.
He was born in the New York City, which automatically gave him many opportunities to grow further and more on. He was raised in Queen Village, not NYC. His growing up in the state of Philadelphia was pretty great, as he recalls. His father is called Theodore S. “Ted” and his mother is called Helen Anne Tapper and she comes from a different country: Canada.
She was a psychiatric nurse, but today she is retired and does not work in the Philadelphia Veterans Affair Medical Center anymore. His father was going through the similar proccess of getting into medicine and so he finished the Dartmouth College and later ended up being on one of the best schools in the country: Harvard. He specialised in Pediatrics and was one of the best men in his field so he worked at Jefferson Medical College.
What is interesting is that Jacob’s mother is now a jew and his father is a jew too. His mother decided that she will be happier if her religion was the same as her husbands so that’s why she converted. Because of this, Tapper spent quite some time in the sumemr camps.
Tapper started out his education at the Akiba Hebrew Academy in Pennsylvania and he was a great student, just like his parents expected. He continued hisa education at the Dartmouth College and he graduated with an academic honor Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude. His field of work was History and he was a member of a fraternity while being in college. At some point, he went to the USC School of Cinematic Arts but it wasn’t really what he enjoyed so he decided that he will not pursue this any longer.
Career development
His first encounters with the media began in 2991 when he was a press secretary for a woman in politics called Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky. He started out as something temporary, but it ended up being permanent and he got to know how things work in politics.
He also used to work for Powell Tate, a company for public relations. He became very good in his job and therefore he was soon noticed by different companies that wanted to employ him. Some of them was the Handgun Control Inc.
As he became better in understanding politics and media, he began to write because, after all, writing was something he loved. He started to write articles and began nourishing another part of his career. He knew that he loved journalism and therefore he made it his full-time job in 1998. He wrote for Washington City Paper and while creating there, he made an article which said some things about Monica Lewinsky and this created a whole lot of controversy.
However, he still won an award for his work at the current news company he was writing in.
He was also working at a company called Salon.com from years 1999 to 2002. It was a great experience to make his journalism better and to get closer to regular people. He was nominated for various awards in journalism and he got to be one of the few reporters that dealt with the Iraq problems of weapons of mass destructions.
In year 2001, he became a host on CNN and this was his first encounter with this broadcasting channel. He was in a talk show called Take Five and by now he has been writing for a magazine called TALK Magazine.
It was a great experience because many other magazines suddenly became interested in his creating including: The New Yorker, The New York Times Magazine, The Washington post and similar media.
He next worked with the ABC News. They accepted him in 2003 and he covered various very popular topics while working there, including the Hurricane Katrina and problems that occurred in Afghanistan.
He got into “This Week” until he was replaced and he at one point wortked for the White House. He was already so bit that he just appeared in shows such as World News, Good Morning America, Nightline and so on.
He is very good with people and that’s the reason why they had him interview a CIA director called Leon Panetta so he later was the favorite choice to interview people all of the time.
In 2012, he joined the CNN and he hosted his own show called The Lead with Jake Tapper. This was pretty important for him since he finally could reveal his true identity in full form by talking directly to people around him and presenting the news exactly the way he wanted to.
In 2017, he received a reward called the Walter Cronkite Award and it was for Political Journalism. It was very important to him to get recognized in this field.
Later on, he made many interviews, won awards for reporting, moderated debates and all of this lead to his great success of getting his final show called State of the Union with Jake Tapper. This means that he now had many more guests and many more views.
Personal life
We don’t know much about his personal life since he tends to keep it hidden because he is easily a target of controversy since he isn’t afraid to talk about various sensitive subjects on his show.
It is pretty obvious that he attracts many enemies for this and wants to keep everyone in his life safe because it wouldn’t be the first time someone dear of someone famous was kept hostage and so on because of money or publicity.
In 2006, he married a woman called Jennifer Marie Brown and today they live in Washington, D.C. They have two children and there isn’t much known information about the kids.
He met his wife during the Presidential Campaign and it was a very interesting meet-up. Later on, Jake claimed that he had to sacrifice family life for his work at ABC and his wife said that this is true but she does not want him to feel as if he is doing something bad because he is earning for their family and he has such a workplace where one simply has to invest fully.
Jennifer used to work at Planned Parenthoodand she is very well known as a person who often volounteers. This means that she cares very much about children s ince a lot of the work she did and does ha many things to do with them. She says that they are the future and that is why she cares about them so much.
The couple didn’t have much trouble in their relationship and most of the trouble they had was cause by Miss Lewinsky who used to date Jake Tapper because many different scandals came out during the beginning of the couple’s relationship. However, they went through it together and therefore it hadn’t left such a huge impact on them. It is a sort of a sketchy topic, however, so every interviewer that gets to Tapper or his wife always opens up a conversation about it to get a certain reaction.
He is a big fan of the Philadelphia teams such as Phillies Eagles and 76ers. He is a huge fan of sports and therefore he likes to watch games too.
