Jannero Pargo is an American NBA pro basketball player, currently playing for Oklahoma City Blue.
Early years
Jannero was born on September 22,1979 in Chicago, Illinois.He has two siblings: a brother who is also a famous basketball player, named Jeremy Pargo, and a sister Kizzy Pargo, who is a well-known triathlon athlete.
They lived with their mother Charlie Mae Pargo. His brother Jeremy was always a roll model for him, and he played for Maccabi Tel Aviv and Schentzen, a basketball team from China.
He went to Chicago’s Paul Robeson High School where he graduated in 1998. For a while he was a student at Neosho College in Kansas but soon he moved to University of Arkansas because the conditions for basketball players were better in Arkansas. He played for their college team and since he had great results, he decided to continue playing basketball and to try and make a career in the NBA..
Career development
A serious of circumstanses led him to get involved to the Los Angeles Lakers. In 2003 he transferred to Toronto Raptors but there he had a chance to play in only few games. The same year he went to another team: he was transferred to the famous Chicago Bulls.
After Chicago he ended up in New Orleans Hornets where he showed his talent in playing his best at crucial moments, deciding some of the most important playoff games. He was a very important player in all teams but his injuries made him have ups and downs in the game.
In 2009 he returned to Chicago Bulls after a few months playing in the Greek Leauge and a one year playing for the Russian club Dynamo Moscow. Since then he moved between Chicago Bulls, Charlotte Hornets and back.
He was playing the point guard and shooting guard position for the Charlotte Hornets. He is one of the players at NBA-D (NBA Development League) in the team called Oklahoma City Blue.
Personal life
In 2006 he got married to Malaysia, real name is Laquisha, and has three children with her, one of them also named Jannero Pargo Jr. She was acting in a reality TV show „Basketball Wives“ but she is also the owner of a few successfull brands, Three Beats Jewelry and 3BeatsL.
They got divorced after 8 years because of his alleged infedility, and the judge approved a very big settlement to her, which includes half of his NBA pension and monthly child support. Ruomors are that Malaysia cheated him back with Diddy’s raper called Mase.
Philantropic work
He is involved with many charity events such as the Peace League and the foundation Mary’s Court which was brought down in Chicago, and many events in connection with The Charlotte Hornets foundation, based on helping people with their medical, educational and financial issues.
