Early life

Evra was born on 15th May 1981 in Dakar, Senegal as Patrice Latyr Evra. His father was a diplomat. But very shortly after his birth when he was a kid of mere 1 years he left his native land and came to Europe with his parents.

He was trying hard for football in Paris when he was only a boy of six years. He grew up with 26 siblings and quite evidently he could have played with someone or the other. He impressed Marsala which is a minnow club in Italy for the young seat in 1988. He went Sicily and only with the help of locals of the island got to the doors of Marsala.

Career

The beginning was not as easy as it is off now. At the Marsala club, he practiced hard and got into the eleven as a striker. He played 25 matches there and scored 5 goals with his skill and trickery.

He wanted to play for some bigger club and improve upon his playing skills. He was seen in the Monza which is second division club in the Italian soccer. The chances of playing in the team were not coming as expected by the young lad and he felt moved to some other club to understand the game better.

After some time Evra went back to France and got in the OGC Nice which is a French second division club. During his days at the OGC Nice, he started playing with some more vigor and was soon recognized as the real talent. He was quite impressive as left back under his manager Salvioni. Though he was not in the regular squad and was filled up for the regular player. But with his technique, he got into the second Ligue squad in the capacity of left-back.

Evra has fulfilled the expectations of the OGC Nice officials and gained a reputation for transfer to a much-renowned club. Monaco is in close link with Nice, and the relation of the two clubs helped him in getting the transfer to Monaco. His former club gained some pecuniary strength through this transfer. Evra’s playing ability had gained enough confidence from the coach Didier Deschamps and hence got into the team straightway in June 2002. The coach was not disheartened and the club Monaco gained runners-up position in the league. The club also went to play final in the Champions League.

Soon after Monaco sold off many of the good players and started struggling in the following season, Evra wanted to move out to prone him further. But he failed to make enough impression for the English conditions. On the contrary, during his days at Monaco, Evra got into the eyes of national selectors as France performed drastically in 2004 and Evra got a call from the national team in August 2004.

Evra was in a close contest with Gabriel Heinze to find a place in the Manchester United in January 2006. He was adopted to the conditions of the English weather and playing formats, but incidentally, this costs him a definite place perhaps in the national team.

He got an entry as a left winger to play alternately with Gabriel and Manchester revived the glory winning the league title after four years.
