Early life
Shane Lee Yaw was born on July 19, 1988 in Long Beach, California, U.S. He went to the Lakewood High School and his childhood wasn’t a happy one. His father was abusive to him and his brothers and his mother would often leave the family and come back.
His two older brothers, Jerid and Jacob, were his only support during this period. Family was very poor and they didn’t have enough for almost anything.
Shane was made fun of because if his weight problem and his overall physical appearance that was not appealing. His family is of Dutch, Swedish, Welsh and English descent.
Beginning of You Tube career
To get himself away from the negativity in his life, Shane began to film videos and posted them on You Tube. He became interesting in filming when he was doing one school project with his friend. He posted his first You Tube video back in 2008 and right of the bat he caught the eye of early You Tube audience.
At the beginning of his career in 2008 he worked full time at Jenny Craig’s together with his mother. After he filmed a video where he was pole dancing inside one of the company’s buildings, he got fired and so did the others who appeared in this video.
He currently has three You Tube channels, but posts on only two of them. He didn’t upload any new content on the channel ShaneDawson2 since 2012. The other two channels, HumanEmoji and Shane are his two main channels right now, and he posts new videos from Monday to Friday.
Shane often collaborates with other You Tube stars and films videos with them on various subjects. Most of his videos are actually based on daily situations he goes through or on his everyday experience. Shane is not only a You Tuber, he is also a comedian.
In 2013 he started a podcast called Shane and Friends. Shane tried himself out in directing and producing. He announced to his audience in 2014 that he starred and produced a comedy called Pittsburgh and later it was renamed into Not Cool.
His movie competed in the show The Chair and in the end Shane received a 250$ thousand reward, that he can use to work on his next big project.

Shane was in a longtime relationship with Lisa Schwartz. The couple even lived together for a while but in 2015 they separated. Shane also revealed to his fans that he is bisexual and that probably affected his relationship.
He is an animal lover and has total of five dogs, Charlie, Unicorn, Miley, Chocolate and Uno. He also has two cats Snoop and Muffins.
His relationship with his parents never really improved but his brothers continue to be his biggest support in life.
In 2016 Shane announced his relationship with Ryland Adams. The media suspected for a long time about Shane’s actual sexuality, but in 2016 he came out and bared his private life to his fans. He would often say that his relationship with his ex-girlfriend Lisa was great but many suspected otherwise.
Ryland is a TV host and producer and we can often see them posing together on their social media accounts. Since 2008 Shane managed to grow his audience number and make himself a huge You Tube star, and one of the beginners in this area.
