Early life
Maurice Joseph Micklewhite known as Michael Caine was born on 14 March 1933 in Rotherhithe, London. His parents were fish market porter Maurice Joseph Micklewhite and cook Ellen Frances Marie Burchell and have English and Irish ancestry.
Michael younger brother is also an actor Stanley Caine and he have one elder half-brother David William Burchell.
Michael attended at two schools: Hackney Downs School and Wilson’s School in Wallington both left and work as a filing clerk for a film company. Later he served The Royal Fusiliers – part fo British Army and participated in Korean War.
Personal life
Michael has married twice. The first time he married to an English actress Patricia Haines, with whom he has daughter Dominique.They split in 1962. Eleven year later, he married to Guyanese-British model and actress Shakira Caine. They have one daughter Natasha.
He is the fan of cricket and close friend of Roger Moore and Sean Connery. Today he resides in a town in Surrey, Leatherhead.
Michale wrote three books: Not Many People Know That; Not Many People Know This Either and Not A Lot of People Know This is 1988.

Acting career
Michael began his career during the 50s, in Sussex mostly in the theater plays such as The Feminine Touch, The 10.5 Never Stops, Miss Mabel, This Was A Woman and so on.
He moved to London in 1954 and has to pick up a new stage name, as Michael Scott was already taken. After noticing that drama The Caine Mutiny was just showed at the London, he decided to be Michael Caine. Two years later he got the first movie role as Private Lockyer in the war film A Hill in Korea. During the same year, he got first BBC credited role in the play The Lark.
Until the end of the 50s Michael appeared in few series such as Dixon of Dock Green and Escape.
The role that significantly improved Michael’s career and brought him numerous further roles, is the acting in a play The Compartment. Soon after, he took the lead roles in plays such as Somewhere for the Night, The Playmates, The Way with Reggie etc. In that period he signed new agent Denis Selinger.
In 1964 Michael gains significant role which brought him highly positive reviews in the war movie Zulu, where he portrayed British army officer Major Gonville Bromhead. In the same year, he filmed tv version of Shakspere plays Hamlet at Elsinore, as Horatio.
Until the end of the 60s, Michael played some of his two most important roles in spy movie The Ipcress File and romance Alfie.
The 70’s were marked by his roles in films such as Get Carter, Sleuth, The Man Who Would Be King, A Bridge Too Far and Silver Bears.
The 80s weren’t so successful for the Michael, although he won Oscar for the role in Hannah and Her Sisters. Yet, some of his movies were criticized as great failures ever such as The Magus, The Swarm, Ashanti, The Jigsaw Man and so on.
The most important roles for Michael in 90s were in musical Little Voice and drama The Cider House Rules which brought him two awards Golden Globe and Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
In 2000 Michale received for lifetime achievement BAFTA Fellowship Award.
