TV and movie career

Bam’s popularity started when he began shooting videos of him and his friends skateboarding. These videos were turned into CKY video series and after the first release, CKY2K, CKY3 and CKY4 were released. The shortcut stands for Camp Kill Yourself as a reference to the movie Sleepaway Camp.

These videos show many Margera’s friends doing skateboard stunts and the name CKY is also the name of Bam’s brother’s rock band.

Big Brother editor Jeff Tremaine got his hands on these videos and came up with an idea of creating the MTV Jackass. Margera’s first appearance was on MTV Jackass and after this few Jackass movies were released and mostly all of them became popular with the audience.

Many of the stunts were first conducted by his old crew. MTV audience adored Margera, and he got his first show Viva La Bam, where he pretty much did all the crazy things he usually does with his crew. Few spin-off’s followed Viva La Bam.

His band “Fuckface Unstoppable” wasn’t very well received by the critics and they described their work as a laughing matter and the band members seemed to be more like clowns rather than serious musicians.
