David Canterbury is a survival expert and an author who became known as a star if Dual Survival show aired on Discovery Channel.

He is also an owner of Patfinder School in Ohio.

Early life:

David Michael Canterbury was born on September 19, 1963 in Florida in the United States.

From his early age he was interested in playing outdoors, in the army and everything with adrenaline included. He had the best fun when doing dangerous things and his mother was often annoyed by it because she was scared that he will do something that’ll cost him his health.

After highschool he couldn’t wait to get enlisted in the US Army. It was somethg he found noble and he wanted to get involved into it because of the patriotic feel he always had.

Career development:

After joining the army he became a sergeant from 1981 to 1987. He grew very quick because he is a talent in his field.

His first job included working on the farm of reptiles which showed his interest in doing something wild and different.

He also worked as a fisherman for a while, and a diver. None of these jobs were ever appealing to him.

He was an ordinary factory worker in Ohio at the time he auditioned for the Discovery’ s reality TV series called “Dual Survival.”

He showed his great survival skills and the training he got during his army years.

Today he is an owner and an instructor at the Pathfinder School in Ohio. He  also started his own YouTube channel where he uploads various instructional videos containing survival techniques.

He came up with a survival strategy called “5 C-s of Survival” which include a tool for Cutting, a Combustion device, Cover, Container and last, a Cordage.

He was in the show only for two seasons, although he was very well liked by the public. He was in the show in 2010 and in 2011 before he was dismissed in 2012 because of the false facts in his military resume he had given to the producers before entering the show.

In the rest of the text you can read some of the facts from his resume, some are true and some are false.

He claims that he has over 20 years of Military and Combined Survival Training but his name couldn’t be found in any military records.

He was in US Military but not seven years but six. He wasn’ t a scout or a sniper as he claimed. He attended trainings but was never on this positions.

There are no records of his deployment to Honduras and Nicaragua as he claimed.

He couldn’t have been a Squad Leader from 1982 to 1983 because Privates are never chosen for this job, he also wasn’t a Ranger, etc.

No matter that, he was very popular. He issued an apology on that behalf in 2014.

He came back to TV in 2015 as a co-star in “Dirty Rotten Survival”,  a reality series which was aired on the National Geographic Channel.

He published three bestseller books on zhe survival theme and they were all a success.

In 2011 he published “Survivability for Common Man” and three years later, in 2014, he published a book which became the New York Times bestseller. It was called “Bushcraft 101”.

The sequence to that book came in 2015 with “Advanced Bushcraft”.
