Early Life

Justin Smith is the actual birth name of Just Blaze. He took birth at Paterson, New Jersey, United States of America on8th January 1978. He grew up in the city of Paterson and was interested in learning all about music from his very early age.

He was inspired by his elder cousin during his training years. He was introduced to EPMD Records by his elder cousin. As he started gaining experience, his interest grew towards the area of producing records.

He was much into giving sincere efforts in releasing some of the brilliant records. He got himself enrolled at the Rutgers University and studied there for three long years.  But Blaze understood soon enough that he is a not person who would excel in the field of academics and ultimately dropped out to pursue his much-wanted work of producing some of the extraordinary soundtracks by the eminent hip hop artists.

Career

Smith got interested in producing some of the beautiful hip-hop tracks of the popular artists during the early years of 1990’s. His production unit has taken attempt to produce Jay-Z “The Dynasty: Roc La Familia.” He was quite interested in becoming a core member of the production with much sincerity and effort because he knew that’s its release would bring excellence in the prospects of a career. He went for producing this album because of Kanya West repeated request, and at the same time, it earned him a major in-house production unit. His immense sincerity in producing the latest hit number made him get the most acquainted name “Just Blaze.” Smith then went for producing the various productions of the label Roc-A-Fella roster.

In the year 2002, Blaze was eager to produce the household production of the Cam’ron’s summer hit smash “Oh Boy.” Then he went for producing the hit numbers of Usher, Snoop Dogg, Kanye West, Mariah Carey; then he chose to work with Talib Kweli. Busta Rhymes was one of his favorite labels; Jadakiss was also an extraordinary hip-hop artist with whom he has worked. Memphis Bleek and Cam’ron were among Blaze’s prominent associates. Saigon, Young Gunz, Beanie Sigel, Grafh all the labels are his permanent associating artists of Blaze with whom he regularly coordinated his productions. The Game, T.I., DMX, Fat Joe, , Rhymefest, Juelz Santana, Jin, Ghostface Killah , Fabolous, Joe Budden, Freeway (rapper), Kool G Rap, , MF DOOM, Rah Digga, Edison Chen, Teriyaki Boyz, and big UK MC’s JME are the prominent brand names that Blaze works with. Among all the mentioned names Skepta and Klashnekoff are one of the most trusted coordinates he works with. He also went for producing a remix version of the eminent artist Janet Jackson; a single hip-hop track titled ‘Just A Little While’ that was entitled ‘Love Me.’

After Jay-Z declared his retirement back in the year 2004, Blaze through of rescheduling his ideas and started off with a new venture. He ultimately decided to begin his label. While he was in a dilemma, he went for the brand name Roc-A-Fella but later decided that this was not the perfect name to start with. He had no other options left other than returning to hit parent recording company Def Jam Recordings. The record brand was not at all interested in taking the risk of releasing the pet label. So he understood the hard ways of making a debut release. But things went well, and ultimately Blaze was recognized by the Atlantic Records. The record brand went into an agreement with Blaze that they would like to own 50% of the share and let him name his label Fort Knocks Entertainment.

Soon in the year 2004, Blaze went for launching his brand new label through the prominent recording company Atlantic Records. Soon enough he went for signing a deal with mixtape rapper hailing from New York, Saigon. The rapper was going to produce his debut release “The Moral of the Story.” Hi, first mixtape album was titled “The Greatest Story Never Told.” He also signed an agreement with Blaze on his very next release titled “Just Getting Warm.” As suggested by Blaze it would be an excellent compilation of some of the fabulous hip-hop tracks. On the survey, it has been seen that most of the record that is done by the Knocks Entertainment are conducted through the production unit of Baseline Studio.
