Nicola is the first lady whose hand had been lifted by the referee in the boxing ring of any Olympic event. She is the gold medalist in women’s flyweight category in 2012 and also in 2016.

In 2011 in Katowice, the boxer got the Gold at the European Union Amateur Boxing Championship. The same year in July Nicola was included by the BBC to feature “6 Promising Britons to watch in the Olympics”. In 2012 Summer Olympics she created history by defeating Ren Cancan to get to the podium to receive the first Olympic boxing Gold for women. Then she got 2014 Commonwealth Gold and retained her Gold in 2016 Rio Olympics. On 23rd January 2017, she became a professional boxer of the ring.
In the ring, she might have to fight with another lady as per protocol of the game. But in case of life, the lady does not restrict herself to any particular gender and openly claims her inclination to either sex.
