Ashwin has many plans to bowl a particular delivery while his captain has no other plans sometimes but to throw the ball to his most promising wicket-taker. In recent years he had really dominated the heart of Indian cricketing fans with astounding wicket taking hauls in all the playing formats. Be it Test or One day or T-20.

Ashwin is particularly severe with his offbreaks on the subcontinent turning soil. What is more pleasing for his fans is that his captain can depend upon his batting ability as well.

Presently in IPL Championship, he is one of the major picks for his team Chennai Super Kings (CSK). His dominance can be well illustrated by a fact that in 2014 IPL his auction price rose to 5.5 crores in Indian currency. Earning 1 crore as Retainership Fees per annum and handsome salary in all the formats of the game has earned him a huge wealth.

Through his high-income Ashwin has accumulated an estimated net worth of $5 million dollars.

Early life

Ravichandran Ashwin was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and India on 17th September 1986.  He is the only son of Ravichandran and Chitra. His parents enrolled their son at Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan.

He had also studied at St. Bede’s. After his schooling, Ashwin went into Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering with an ambition to get the B. Tech degree in Information Technology.

Career

In 2009 Ashwin contributed heavily to make Tamil Nadu win the domestic 1-Day title. His excellent repetitive performance at the domestic level cricket forced the BCCI selectors to go for a contract with the promising all-rounder.

Ashin made his international debut in the One-day format on 5th June 2010 and within a week time played his first international T-20 match against Zimbabwe on 12th June 2010. In the same month, another good news reached Ashwin’s family that their child has been selected for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. In 2011 Ashwin made his Test debut against West Indies.

In the course of time, he had turned out to be the most preferred bowler when the team requires breaking some developing partnership with the opponent. But still, in the beginning, Ashwin made several comebacks in the national squad. In the Test Matches on the sub-continent soil, he made an impressive duo with Pragyan Ojha.

Finally in 2013 in Border-Gavaskar Trophy the selectors decided to retain Ashwin in the regular team, and Ashwin won the heart of his team management by winning the Man of the Series Award with 29 wickets haul. Against West Indies, Ashwin got his maiden century and made a record partnership for the 7th wicket with Rohit Sharma for 280 runs.

He became the fastest bowler for India to dismiss 50 and 100 batsmen in Test cricket. With the passage of time, he learned to depend on his genuine off-breaks with some sparing and deceptive use of floaters and carom ball. He performed with extreme supremacy in Sri Lanka and South Africa in the home soil taking 21 and 31 wickets in the series respectively. Ashwin had become the fastest bowler to make 300 dismissals.
