Early life
Robby was born as Robert W. Gordon on 2nd January 1969 in Cerritos, California, United States of America. “Baja Bob” Gordon who was an off-road champion at his time was his father and Robby got inspired by his father’s supreme driving. He began his career following the footsteps of his legendary father. He proved to be the most deserving son by winning off-road championship six times.
After a successful start in the off-road championship, Robby entered car racing with the sports cars and in 1991 succeeded in surpassing all in GTO races five times. The next year he also proved his supremacy over another driver in the Trans-Am race. Before these two wins, in 1991 Robby entered the racing field in the NASCAR Winston Cup for the first time driving for Junie Donlavey in the Daytona 500.
Career
Gaining confidence in car driving had enabled Robby to be a part of some major championship during these days. With success in GTO and Trans-Am Robby moved to experience Indy car for the first time in 1993 when he drove for A.J. Foyt. As the car gathers more momentum with enhancing acceleration, the driver gets fused with the car while the needle of the speedometer bends right. Robby was going in the right direction, and by 1995 he had progressed a lot to be most competitive driver among the best in the run. He proved his dominance by winning CART poles four times and the races in Phoenix and Detroit.

By clinching the Richmond ’04 once he gained pride in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Robby had one win in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Gatorade 125.
He also has a win in the Central Europe Rally Special to his credit. In 1999 he almost won the Indianapolis 500, but while leading in the last lap, he ran out of fuel.
