Early life

Saina Nehwal was born  on 17th March 1990 in Hisar,  Haryana,  India in a jatt family along with her sister.  She hails from the district of Haryana. She was fortunate enough to get supportive parents Harvir Singh Nehwal and Usha Nehwal.

Her father was an employee in CCS HAU, and he received her initial schooling from the Campus School, as ger parents considered it the best option for making her basic academic foundation, though it was a local school in her hometown in Hasir. Then she went for receiving  her college  education from the famous institution, St. Anne College for Women’s.

Her parents were quite sure about their daughter inclination towards badminton, and this was the reason she remained focused only on it.  She was featured with some of the inborn abilities that made her capable of achieving such a successful position with her immense dedication.


Saina is probably the No. 1 former Badminton player who has been successful in achieving almost 21 titles in total. She received this title in the year 2015 and was even recognized as the first ever Indian female hailing from India to achieve such a commendable position. She is often honored as the “Queen of Badminton.”

She started off with her career under the category of fewer than 19 and went for acclaiming the trophy after achieving the prestigious title in the famous AS Badminton Tournament.  On getting inspired with her first success, she was ready for getting prepared for the next event and was considered eligible for representing India in the series of the Events in Philippines Open Tournament that made the country receive global acclamation for her performance. Junior Championship where she was the runner-up, but it made her way to another event in the year 2008 World Junior Badminton where Saina was placed against Sayaka Sato who is a well known and eminent Japanese player.

Soon Saina came to the limelight after competing with her opponent in the Yonex Chinese Taipei Open and won the event successful. She gave her best effort in this event of Tapei Open and was honored with the title “The Most Promising Player of the Year.”  The Tapei Open triggered Saina‘s passion for achieving more of the championships namely the BWF Super Series, the Indonesia Open Championship.

She was the only women in India who was capable of succeeding all the way to the World Championship quarterfinals.  She was present in the Uber Cup and also the All England Super Series.  Saina was even successful in attaining a commendable position by making herself manage to reach the semi-finals of the event Yonex Sunrise Badminton Asia Championship.  Saina received severe injuries in the year 2016, but being passionate about badminton after little recovery she started playing and participating in Championships ones again.

She won the defending Championship at the event of India Open where she couldn’t make her away to win the medal but managed her way to the semi-finals at the Olympic Championship Li Xueri, which was an extraordinary match to be commented upon. Saina even settled for a medal in bronze after getting recognized in the year 2010 in Asian Championship.

Her performance was worth commenting on the 2016 Indonesia Open Super Series Premier where Saina managed to be in the quarterfinals but lost her position with her opponents Caroline Marin whose points were high enough to succeed upon. The scoreboard showed 22-24 and Saina were only with 11-21. Currently, Saina is withholding the world ranks of the 2nd best position.  She is one of the most admired badminton players who is really an asset for the country.

Personal life

Nehwal family presently lives in Hyderabad. Saina has presently brought a new mansion in the city of Hyderabad in the year 2015. The mansion worth is estimated somewhere around 5.1 Crores that us really a jaw-dropping amount.
