Ugly God is an American rapper who entered into the world of fame in 2016 because of his single ‘Water’ which was a huge hit.
He is originally from Indiana and started rapping when he attended the Southern Mississippi University.
Early Life
Ugly God’s birthplace being Indiana was born on 19th September 1996. His birth name is Royce Rodriguez but adopted Ugly God as his stage name. During his teens, he had to move often around Midwest and South because of his working parents.
He was always interested in music and got engaged in rapping as a student at Southern Mississippi University. He was enrolled in a computer science degree course, but his passion for music made him drop out college and pursue a great career in the world of music.
Career
Initially, he aspired to become an engineer but was unfortunately dropped out of the college so as to pursue a music career. He also experimented himself in the world of hip hop and collaborated with D-Pow and B space.
During his initial years in the music world, he adopted a moniker ‘Pussy Bacon’. But he had to change this name because of his parents’ objection towards this unique stage name. Since then he started performing as Ugly God as his new stage name. He released debut single ‘Water’ after testing his sound for a time period, through SoundCloud in 2016.
‘Water’ had been produced by the rapper himself being assisted by Danny wolf and within no time the track was on the hit list on many of the audio streaming websites. It has been played over 87 million times, from the time when it was uploaded. It finally got released at the end of the year which achieved a huge commercial success. Within a gap of a year, another single entitled ‘Fuck Ugly God’ was released in 2017 which also fetched more than 1 million streams within a period of 5 days on Soundcloud. Similarly, it received an unbelievable response on Youtube which further made him very popular and admirable amongst his fans.
Besides these 2 singles, he has been a part of a number of collaboration in the last two years. He got featured in ‘Codeine’ by Bspace which received over 1 million views on Youtube. That very year he got an opportunity to be made a guest appearance in 50 white Bxtches by B space, Sneeze On a Bitch by D-Pow and Glock by Famous Dex. He has also been a part of the rap title of DJ BJ which also featured Trill Sammy, the rapper.
It has already been mentioned in his upcoming career opportunities about his 2017 tour, as per the official website. Reportedly this tour is supposed to continue till the early of September.
Taking other upcoming projects into consideration, the rap star is said to be working on getting his debut mixtape entitled as ‘The Booty Tape’ put together. This mixtape will include his hit singles, ‘Water’ as well as ‘Fuck Ugly God.’ The release date of this project has not been announced yet.
Personal Life
The rapper is only 20 years old is unmarried and is single currently. He had been graduated from a high school and joined the University of Southern Mississippi. He took admission in the university to become a computer engineer.
But during his college years, he discovered his style of rapping and got heavily engaged in this music genre. With the passion of music and determination to carry it forward and take it up as a full-time career, he made a decision of dropping out of college.
The stage name ‘Ugly god’ is allegedly referred to his ‘ugly looks’ which he had realized during his childhood years. Moreover, the mention of ‘God’ in his stage name indicates of him being ‘the ugliest guy on earth.’
