Young B is a stage name of a known American Harlem female rapper whose real name is Bianca Dupree. She is especially known for her role in “Love & Hip Hop: New York”.
Early years
Young B was born on July 1, 1991 in Harlem in New York, United States as Bianca Dupree. Her childhood nicknames were also BiBi and Bonnie Banks.
Bianca grew up in Jefferson Projects buildings and she was a part of “Rich Girls” social group while she was a teen.
Her parents were Ronald and Ellen Dupree and she was third of five children which means that she has four siblings.
She was a student at Essex Street Academy after which she enrolled the New York University.
Career development
To get noticed in her hometown she has spent a lot of time clubbing and meeting DJ’s in order for them to began playing her music at local community parties. Rucker Park and the Kingdome were the most popular places to be heard.
Bianca was very young when she started her collaboration with a rapper named Webstar. She was featured on his debut album which came in 2006 under the name: “Webstar Presents: Caught in the Web”.
She was only 14 when she signed a contract with Arthur Smith, a manager from New York.
Bianca became known in 2007, when she was 16 years old, when she won the Sprite Award for her work on “Chicken Noodle Soup” which was a signature single of the above mentioned album.
DJ Enuff released the song on his radio show and after a while everybody knew about Young B and her dance. Even Chris Brown stole her moves in one of his videos.
The single reached No 45 on the Billboard Hot 100 list, and was in the Top 10 on Rap charts.
Other than this hit, there were “I Came To Dance,” “Tone Wop” and “Don’t Stop”. They were produced by DJ Ted Smooth, T.T., AG, G.Dot, Ron Browz, Severe and T-Rex.
Oprah Winfrey tried to perform the dance in her studio show.
It brought her fame and she started touring and performing all over New York and the country.
Before that, she signed a contract with Scrilla Hill Records – Universal Republic in 2006.
She became known to politicians too, and one Congressman called Ed Towns asked her to perform at the Children’s Health Awareness Day Festival.
She has been given a chance to perform at large venues such as a concert in the Bahamas and at Madison Square Garden.At the Soul Train Music Awards she received an award for the Best Dance Cut.
In 2016 she filled a lawsuit against her former promoter Arthur Smith.
He and his record company Scrilla Hill are claiming they are intitled to half of her earnings which she received through her appearance in “Love Hip Hop: New York”.
The singer is angry because she is claiming that he never filled out the terms of their deal so the paper isn’t lawfull.
She says it is strange how they didn’t have contact for five years but now he demands half of anything she earns.

Her current manager Yandy Smith Harris was also a star at Love & Hip Hop New York and with his help, she released her album “The 9th Year” in August 2016.
The album was mostly produced by Ray Lennon and Shy Boogs, but some songs were produced by a guest producer 50 Cent.
In 2017 she released a video for a song: “Faith In These Brownskins”, where she speaks out how it’s tough for a black woman to succeed in life.
She also decided to take the offer of playing Sheena in a very popular web series “Respect Life” filmed in Brooklyn.
Her second album called “10 Plus” was released via digital media at the beginning of 2018 by Para Music Group. “Let it Rain”, “Miss you” and “For my Baby” are some singles from her last album.

She is currently single and not dating anyone. Bianca says it works just great for her because she hasn’t got the time for love since she is promoting her new album and going on gigs.
