D’Angelo Russell is a well-known American pro basketball player. He is currently playing for LA Lakers.
Early years
He was born on February 23, 1996 in Louisville, Kentucky in United States. He grew up in a happy home with his four siblings. He is still very close to them, especially to Antonio and LeShawn.
When he was a kid, his parents encouraged him to play basketball to distract him from potential problems that could came up if he started to hang out with the wrong crowd in their neighbourhood. He was about ten years old when the parents decided that it wolud be better for the kids to move to another part of town, to a nicer and calmer neighbourhood.
He was a pupil at Central High School in the same town where he lived. He spent most of his time at the basketball field. After just one year here, the family decided to enroll him into a boarding school in Florida.
It was the Monteverde Academy, which was known for their great basketball team and it opened the door for D’Angelo’s career.
The first year there wasn’t so hard for him, because his father joined him to help him get started, but afterwards he was living on his own. This made him very responsible and he matured faster than he would of usually.
Career development
He was very successful in his game so, during his time at Monteverde, he has won two national basketball titles. For continuing his schooling he has chosen Ohio state University and in 2013 he moved there to join their basketball team called The Buckeyes.
Since he was great in his game and he knew it, in 2015 he decided to stop studying and he applied himself for NBA draft. The same summer he was picked out for a second choice by the L.A.Lakers and since then he is on the rise.
He became a PG or a „point guard“ in that team and became famous for his passes and defenses. In the season 2015/2016 he has scored more points in one game than any other new player, so he became „the rookie of the year“ in NBA.
Personal life
He was romantically involved with Kendall Jenner in 2015, other than that he keeps his private life to himself.
Philantropic work
He isn’t seriously involved in any charity work but he is gladly responding to charity events when he is invited , f.e. he handed out turkeys for Thanksgiving dinner to people in Inglewood.
