Danny Koker is a very famous American TV star known from the reality show Counting Cars on History channel.

His nicknames are The Count and the Count Cool Rider.

Early years

He was born on January 5th 1964 in Cleveland, Ohio. He fell in love with cars as a young boy  and always knew he will be surrounded with them for all of his life. It wasn’t hard for him because most of his relatives worked for Ford, a car company settled in Detroit.

His father was Daniel Koker, a known musician,a pianist and a gospel singer who took him to his concerts and learned him everything he knows about music.  Danny was raised in a very catholic environment and he always had help from someone when he needed it.

His father was very talented and had a full life so Danny didn’t continue  all of his steps yet although they share the same name. His father  was a Green Beret stationed in  Germany, a he played hockey  for the United States  Army, he was a  baseball player and a car enthusiast.

He attended Valley High School and after that he went to the University of Nevada but left his studies after just one year. He only went to college because his parents wanted him to, but soon he had found out it is just not right for him and that he is not the type to stay at home and read books.

As a child he travelled a lot with his uncle Rex and both of their  families as a part of  Christian singing groups  called Rex Hunbard singers and The Koker Family singers.

His grandfather was an  immigrant from ex Yugoslavia, and the family  were very religious (catholics) so they transferred it to their children. He was called Stanko and his wife was Mary.

Career development

After a while, his family earned enough money to try themselves in a new business venture so they bought Channel 33. That’s how they encouraged him to try out in that media, and that is how he became famous enough to be recognized in the street.

In 1990s, he hosted a TV show Saturday Fright at the Movies. His nickname came from that show because he portrayed a vampire count in it. He succesfully uses that nickname for his own promotion and is proud of his humble beginnings.

The Horror Host Hall of Fame took him as a member in 2016.

He moved to Las Vegas to start his own business and he opened Count’s Customs. It’s a restoration shop where he makes his magic turning old vehicles into impressive cars.Today he hires a lot of workers and all of them are good friends. He thinks of them as his second family.

He hasn’t starred only in Counting Cars. He was a guest star in Pawn Stars and in American Restauration. He starred there until 2012 when he started acting in  his own new show. His popularity and wealth made him a proud owner of almost 60 vehicles and over 80 motorcycles, all restaurated by him and made for his own pleasure.

His business doesn’t include only this shop: he owns half of a TV station, a part of a restaurant and a tattoo shop (which is not surprising knowing his love for tattoing).

He is now a singer in his own rock group Count’s 77. He always emphasized that music follows him everywhere he goes, so he has to follow her too. He often plays with his band and his wife who is also a singer.

Personal life

He is married to Korie Koker since 2015. They are in business together: they own a Count’s Vamp’d Rock Bar and Grill in Las Vegas, where his band regularly performs. Korie is also a great singer and sometimes joins him on the stage.

Korie is the entertainment director of Count’s Vamp’d and she takes care of that part of their business.

Danny became an ordained minister to be able to marry Rick Harrison and his girlfriend. Rick is his good friend and a star of “Pawn Stars”. Since he was surrounded by religion from early age, it wasn’t hard for him to make this happen.

His favorite road for riding with his bike is The Pacific Coast Highway.

He is a big supporter of president Donald Trump.

Philantropic work

He is quite of a charity donator and is especially dedicated into supporting organisations which find homes for pets that were abandoned.

In his show „Counting Cars“ he donated thousands of toy cars to different charities several times because he knows there are a lot of kids who like cars and hot rods just like him.
