Early life
Davido is one of lucky few who born with a golden spoon on the 21st November 1992 at Atlanta, Georgia, United States of America. He was born as David Adedeji Adeleke to Adedeji Adeleke and Veronica Adeleke. His father a very wealthy business entrepreneur and his mother was a lecturer in the University. Davido grew up with his two siblings. He has a sister named Sharon Adeleke and an elder brother Adewale Adeleke. At Lagos, Davido started his studies at British International School. After clearing his schooling to be prone up in Business Administration, he got into Oakwood University.
But he was not finding any rhythm in his studies and had to withdraw because of low grades. He went to London to give full focus to his music but somehow realized to move back to Nigeria where his father is an eminent businessman. After being shifted to Nigeria, he got into Babcock University at Ogun State from where he completed his education. While in Oakwood David started practicing music and creating his beats. Before going back to Nigeria, Davido started his musical endeavor in a musical group called as KB International. Davido was failing to give full attention on his studies. In honor of his father, he kept his musical talent little away while trying to pursue a graduate degree. After moving back to Nigeria in Babcock University, he learned music in his academics. But one really cannot impede long the natural flow of talents.
Career
Davido released ‘Omo Baba Olowo’ which was his first studio album. The first single ‘Back When’ was released featuring Naeto C. The album was enhanced by the video shoots of Clarence Peters. On 30th October 2011, Davido came up with a magnificent single Dami Duro which was co-produced by Shizzi. This particular music video gathers huge popularity overnight, and Davido became a star in the Nigerian music arena. Within few months Davido created a separate identity as a Nigerian pop star. Apart from his album Davido came up with few more single in the production of Gospelondebeat. The singles include ‘All of You’ and ‘Overseas.’ He kept on promoting his singles in music videos which includes ‘Feel Alright,’ ‘GbonGbon,’ ‘Ekuro’ and few more.
After his big success with his first album, he started working on his sophomore album in 2013. He released ‘Gobe’ on 25th February 2013 which is again produced by Shizzi. ‘Gobe’ was intended for his second album got a huge appreciation from his huge fans base because of its mesmerizing video and beautiful tune. Another single meant for the upcoming second album, ‘One of a Kind’ was released on 13th May 2013. Both singles were shot at South Africa and are done by Godfather Productions.
For the third single, Davido took some time because of his other assignments. On 13th August 2013, he released ‘Skelewu,’ his third single of the planned album. The single got a huge success in Nigeria and is echoed by innumerable individuals of Nigeria as their national anthem. The song reached top rank in the chart of the Afribiz’s Top 100. On top of that not to take any chance Davido organized a dance competition to promote the single for massive success, and he was rewarded.
Next year on 2nd February Davido came up with the fourth single ‘Aye.’ The music video of the song was released after few days. The song was produced by T Spice and directed by Clarence Peters. The song features a poor farmer falling in love with the princes. On 30th April Davido released yet another single titled ‘Tchelete (Goodlife)’ for the upcoming album. The song was produced by Shizzi and Oskido and was shot by HKN Music Imprint.
To inspire the African people to invest in the social investment project he collaborated with Lola Rae, Mi Casa, Tiwa Savage and Diamond Platnumz to compose a song for DSTV’s Africa Rising Campaign. On 24th June the music video was released and was directed by Callback Dream. The journey has just begun, and world music is eagerly waiting for his countless compositions.
Personal life
Davido is in a long-term relationship with Amanda. The couple has a daughter whom the duo named as Hailey Veronika Adeleke.
Before this Davido has become the father of another baby from Dele Momodu whom the pair named Imade Adeleke.
