It was then that she gave herself the stage name “Dej Loaf,” the first part being a part of her actual name and the Loaf being short for Loafers. She didn’t have it easy from the beginning and had to struggle to gain that recognition that she has today. She was very reluctant after her initial failures but didn’t let it bring her down. She continuously kept knocking on the doors of the people whom she thought would be helpful for her career.

It was finally in 2013 that she released her very first mixtape, “Just Do It” which gained a lot of attention from people across America. Many of her songs from the mixtape went viral which was definitely a blessing because that is exactly how another rapper from Detroit, SAYITAINTTONE found her songs and grabbed his attention because of the unique lyrics and melody.
