Born on November 5, 1973, in Ft. Riley, Kansas, Johnny has a Thai bloodline as his mother was an immigrant from Thai to the United States whiles his father, lived in America who has an Irish and Croatian bloodline. His best season was obviously 2000 when he controlled the American League with 136 runs, 46 stolen bases. In 2001, he joined the Oakland Athletics.

After spending almost a year with this team, he signed Boston Red Sox for $31 million on 21st December 2001. This was a four-year contract. This was the high time of his career as a baseball player. In 2003, he made a record by securing the second place as a baseball player in the MLB history from the year 1900 who has recorded three base hits in one inning.
