Early years
Payroll Giovanni was born as Dior Giovanni Petty on January 30, 1988 in Detroit in Michigan, USA. There aren’t many informations about his childhood or middle school life.
Career Development
The group Doughboyz was formed during his high school time. He was a student at Oak Park High School where he started his own rap group along with his friends Chaz and HBK. He never found school interesting because he knew he’ll get around in thr music industry.
The group interacted with a rap group from Southfield High School who were already called Doughboyz. Payroll and his friends join their group and Payroll became the frontmen of the group.
The group includes many artists, some of them are Doughboy Dre, HBK, Clay, Roc, Chaz Bling and more.
In 2008 they realesed their debut mixtape called “We Run The City”. The tape was a success and their stories of street life became rapidly shared. Their careers suddenly went wild.
The following mixtape was entitled “We Run The City 2 – Floodzone” and was at the same trace as the first one.
The third tape “Chances Make Champions” gave them enormous popularity in and outside Detroit.
After this three success mixtapes they released many more, the most popular being No Deal on Chill, Motor City Runners, Free Roc, and The Tester.
Payroll Giovanni wanted to try out doing a solo career so he released his first mixtape in 2014 under the name “Get Money Stay Humble”. It was released online, on his SoundCloud account and it featured a lot of artists: Chef Tony, JuJu Da Boss and Most Wanted.
Seems that everything that Payroll did was becoming a success and that was also the case with his mixtapes: he released four more. “Stack Season”, “Big Bosdin'”, “Sosa Dreamz” were followed by “Payface” released in 2017.
“Payface” was made in collaboration with a known producer Tee Grizzley. The mixtape featured Ashley Rose and his fellow rappers HBK & Roc. “Hoe we move it” is the most popular song from the tape and had the biggest number of views and downloads.
Staging as a group, Payroll and Doughboyz gave their first concert in 2011 in Detroit and it was selled out. Tjey also performed outside Detroit, for example in Oakland in California and in the Detroit’s nearby cities.
He has his own label but he is still signed to Bylug Ant and the group is signed to Jeezy’s CTE world.
