Shortly after Kamaal’s birth, the family moved to ST.Albans,Queens, New York and they bought an affordable double deck, where music was a key part of the house. As his mother, Kamaal, was an enthusiastic pianist. His preference for music brought him a lot of success in start of his music career. He was practiced the piano since he was three years old and he discovered that he has a natural talent for it.
Q Tip had a very special talent and he had the ability to feel the “absolute tone” at the age of five. His mother soon began to give piano lessons to him, and when he was 10, he played as his mother. He practiced regularly to perfect his piano skills and he also played songs that hehe heard on the radio.
He was an excellent student at school and he was promoted directly to the second grade after kindergarten.
