Rob Dyrdek is mostly known as an MTV reality star. But there is more to this reality TV star and entrepreneur and his estimated net worth is around 50$ million.

Early life

Robert Stanley Dyrdek was born on June 28, 1974 in Kettering, Ohio. He left his parents, Gene and Patty Dyrdek, and his home when he was only 16 to pursue his dream of becoming a professional skateboarder. This has been his passion since an early age and he believed he had what it takes to become a professional.

Professional skateboarder

Due to his great will power, Dyrdek managed to get his first sponsorship when he was only twelve. He got the sponsorship from the company in which Blender was a team member and this is when his skateboarding career began.

Dyrdek and Blender decided to quit their sponsorship with the company that sponsored them, and decided to create Alien Workshop. This company is now a major success and Dyrdek is the owner. In the age of 16 Dyrdek left his home to pursue his skateboarding career. He moved to California and began to ride for Droors Clothing. This company will later be renamed into DC Shoes.

Danny Way, a professional skateboarder, founded both companies and Dyrdek was discovered by him. Since Danny Way noticed Dyrdek’s amazing talent, Dyrdek is sponsored by DC Shoes, Alien Workshop and Monster Energy.

He is also a founder of the Street League Skateboarding, a competition that now has international level.

Movies and TV

Rob’s career on TV began in 2006 when his show called “Rob and Big” aired on MTV. Rob filmed this show together with his bodyguard and best friend Christopher Boykin and his cousin Chris Pfaff. His friend Rashawn Davis was also a part of the show. The show was on MTV until 2008 and after three seasons it ended. The reason is that his friend Boykin got a baby with his longtime girlfriend and decided to leave the show.

In 2009 another Rob’s show began airing on MTV and it was called “Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory”. Dyrdek filmed the show together with Pfaff and his staff and the show presented a renovated warehouse where Dyrdek presented his business ideas.
