Jakelyn Carr is a known young American gospel singer, songwriter and a preacher from Arkansas, who became known from her early age because of her astonishing voice.

Early life:

Jekalyn Almonique Carr was born on April 22, 1997 in West Memphis in Arkansas.

She was born to Jennifer Denise Carr, who is hapily married to Allen Lindsey Carr to this very day.

She has  a brother named the same as their father : Allen Lindsey Carr Jr., and a sister Allundria who is her best friend and a support.

She was only five years old when she started singing gospel music. It was at the same age when she surprised her parents by telling them that her siblings are often singing out of key. Even then she had an incredible ear. She started to improve her vocals on her own, without any help or any teaching, she knew her mistakes.

She became a leading singer in a local church and her parents realized that she has a great future in gospel.

She was never given singing lessons and her parents decided to homeschool her from the 4th grade because she couldn’t combine her school schedule to her singing, travels into other ministries and to her preaching events. She really dedicated her early life to singing and creating her future.

They also thought that it was better for her not to be influenced by the bad things which can happen in public schools.

When she was 11, Jekalyn started traveling to the crowds of people who wanted to hear her sing and preach so she became an excellent motivational speaker and evangelist. People not only love her voice, but also love the words she speaks. She speaks from her heart and embraces people’s flaws.

Career development:

She was only nine years old when she got an opportunity to perform side by side to  Shirley Caesar and Marvin Sapp.

In 2010 she released her independent EP called “God has a Promise Over Your Life”.

In 2012 she released her first single called ” Greater is coming” and the same single was released on her album which came next year, in 2013.

This single came to No.3 on Billboard Gospel Chart and was a big success for a fifteen year old girl.

The album was entitled “Greater is coming” and published by Lunjeal Music Group. It also peaked very high on the charts, on No.9 Gospel Album chart.

After a big success of this album she released another one in 2014, under the name “It’s Gonna Happen”. This album came to the Gospel Album Chart.

She is one of the youngest stars who won the Stellar award – she was  only 16.

Oprah Winfrey Network gave her a role in Greenleaf TV series.

2016 began for Carr with issueing a single “Your Bigger”, which is the leading single from her third LP called “The Life Project”,  that was released in the summer of 2016.

Personal life:

She is a very gifted preacher whose ministry is growing every day and people all around America come to hear her sing and preach.

She is one of the biggest Kim Burell fans. Kim is a known gospel singer from Texas.

She made a lot of her songs with her brother and sister, f.e. “I Belong to You” with her brother Allen and “Lord I Love You” with her sister Allundria. She will continue to make music,  she claims,  but she doubts that she will ever dedicate to modern music. She is very happy with her humble life now.
