Best known for his on-air presentations in the Weather Channel, Jim Cantore is a very well-known American meteorologist.
Born on February 16, 1964 in Beacon Falls, Connecticut Jim Cantore is of Italian descent.
He enrolled himself in college for Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology at the Lyndon State College and was soon hired by The Weather Channel right after he graduated college.
Cantore married his wife Tamra in the year 1990 whom he met at The Weather Channel.
They have two children, their daughter Christina was born on 1993 and later in 1995, their son Ben was born. Tamra and Jim divorced and separated in the year 2009.
Tamra has Parkinson’s disease and both of their children suffer from Fragile X syndrome.
This is probably the pivotal reason why Jim is associated with so many charities and organisations that deals with such diseases. The main organisations that he supports are FRAXA, The Fragile X foundation and even the Parkinson’s Unity Walk and are a consistent donor in the Make-A-Wish foundation.

Right after graduating, he had been hired by The Weather Channel and he has been working with the same since then, although he was not associated with the weather network right from the very beginning, he is at present a very well-known meteorologist.
Cantore is best known for his live coverage works of the major weather events during several Hurricanes like Gustav, Katrina, Andrew, Rita etc. He is at present a much credited member of the National Weather Association and American Meteorological Society.
Cantore has even been credited with many awards for his outstanding achievements, the NOAA – David S. Johnson Award being one of them which he won in the year 2002.
