Kreayshawn is very popular American singer, rapper, creative and music video director. Her born and full name is Natassia Gail Zolot.

She was the member of hip-hop group named the “White Girl Mob” (WGM) along with her two friends V-Nasty and Lil Debbie.

She became famous in 2011 after she released her debut single under name “Gucci, Gucci” which brought her huge popularity and also an offer to sign a contract with Columbia Records.

Just year later (in 2012) she released her first studio album called “Somethin’ ‘Bout Kreay”.

Same year the WGM group split up after a lot of disagreements.

Early years

As we already mentioned in the introduction the full name of Kreyshawn is Natassia Gail Zolot. She was born in San Francisco in the United States of America.

She has Jewish descent since the family of her mother is Jewish although they lived in Russia.

There is not too much information about her childhood. It is known that she lived with her mother named Elka Zolot who was a member of garage punk group called “The Trashwomen”.

There is no any information in the public about her father.

When she was a girl she moved to East Oakland with her mom. She got the camera when she was ten years old and soon after that she started to make her own raps and to shoot videos about her own life.

Her mother was her role model and because of that she enrolled the Met West High School where there were not classic school subjects like math or English language. The education was based on practical work. It means that she was recording and hosting different radio shows there three days weekly. According to her statement it was a “new alternative type of high school”.

Although that school was in the area of her interests she was bored and she was disappointed with lectures and she decided to change the school so she enrolled the Oakland High School. Unfortunately, in that school she didn’t learn and she didn’t attend the classes at all so she had bad grades and she failed a school year since her average grade was 0.0. She was excluded from school because she was absent from the classes and she didn’t express the any will for studies .

After that her mother decided to enroll her at Alameda High School. Kreyshawn was expelled from that school because of disciplinary procedure against her. The reason for this was the incident she caused when she threatened to her classmate that she will tossed the watermelon on him.

Later Kreyshawn enrolled Continuation high school which is located in Island high and she finished second year there but she again started to be absent from classes for two weeks. When she returned to the school she realized that school was moved to another location. She didn’t have new address and she didn’t succeed to find a contact to so she decided to quit from high school education.

When she was 16 years old she moved to Berkeley with her aunt and little cousin about whom she was taking care.

After some time she started to live with her friend V-Nasty and during that period she attended work program. She succeed to pass GED test and when she graduated she got financial support from work program she studied and she bought her own apartment with that money.

Career development

Kreyshawn began her music career when she was 17 years old. She got the laptop in that period and she started to record songs and also to shoot a music videos for local musicians like Lil B.

Her videos attracted the attention of founder and Dean of Berkeley Digital Film Institute named Patrick Kriwanek who offered her to enrolled the studies there for two semesters with a full scholarship.

She accepted that great chance and when she finished the studies she decided to move to Los Angeles because she wanted to develop her music career. One of main reasons for that decision was the encouraging of her manager Chioke McCoy to pursue her own career. She met McCoy during making a video for “DB the General”.

Later Kreyshawn became a member of hip hop group called the White Girl Mob or WGM along with two her friends known under stage names V-Nasty and Lil Debbie. Unfortunately, this group split up in 2012 after many disagreements although V-Nasty and Lil Debbie appeared in Kreyshawn’s music video for song “Go Hard (La.La.La)”.

In 2010 Kreyshawn released her first mixtape named “Kittys x Choppas” and also her first music video for song “Bumpin Bumpin”.

The record label of famous music group “Red Hot Chili Peppers” contacted the management of Kreyshawn with aim to offer a cooperation in making music video for song of that band “The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie” which belongs to the album named “I’m with You”.

In August 2011 Kreyshawn took a 34^th place Billboard Social 50 chart for appearing on social networks.

She also was nominated in category for Best New Artist on MTV Music Video Award but she didn’t win.

She was host of “Red Carpet Event” and same night on her Twitter profile which was hacked were posted her naked photos. She said then that she is underage on those pictures.

On September 14^th 2012 Kreyshawn released her debut studio album under name “Somethin’ ‘Bout Kreay” by “Columbia Records”. It was edition only for online download and the CD of that album was released on September 25^th same year.
