Priscilla Presley is an American actress, author and businesswoman.
Early life
She was born on May 24th 1945. in Brooklyn, New York, USA.
When she was just 6 months old her father, who was a pilot, died in a plane crash.
Her mother married Paul Beaulieu and after that he took over raising her and she always thought of him as her real dad.
He was a US Air Force officer so he and his family were stationed in Germany, where she eventually met Elvis Presley.
She was introduced to him when she was 14 years old, in 1959.They were seeing each other regularly until the day Elvis had to return to the USA.
Career development
In 1962. Elvis asked her to meet with him in Los Angeles.
He asked her father about it and they came to an agreement so he let her go.
After that it took Elvis 7 years to propose her.
They got married in 1967.and had their only child Lisa Mariewas born exactly nine months after their wedding, on February 1, 1968.
Their marriage was turbulent and she had an affair with her dancing teacher while Elvis had quite a few affairs with the actresses in his movies.
Inspite of that they seemed happy and weren’t fighting much.
Four years later they got separated in a friendly manner after Elvis found out of her affair with Mike Stone which lasted long after their separation.
Then she started her own business and opened up a boutique and eventually started acting in series, soap operas and films such as “Dallas”and “The naked gun”.
She wrote a book “Elvis and me” because she wanted everyone to know, including their daughter Priscilla, that Elvis was a very good and gentle man.
She took control over Elvis Presley Enterprises and built it to a huge empire.
That company brought her millions of dollars.
Personal life
Afterwards her break up with Elvis she lived with karate instructor Mike Stone. Then came a six-year relationship with actor and model Mike Edwards.
All her relationships seemed very serious.
From 1984. to 2006. she was in a relationship with an Italian screenwriter and director Marco Garibaldi and in 1987. she had her second son, Navarone Garibaldi.
She was later reported to be dating Nigel Lythgoe, from 2006 to 2009.
Presley is currently single and devoted to the Church of Scientology.
Philantropic work
She is the Ambassador of the Dream Foundation, helping terminaly ill adults by granting them their last wishes. One of those wishes were visits to Graceland, the home of Elvis.
Priscilla has also joined celebrities in a fight against the overmedication of children. She works with Citizen’s Commission on Human Rights and a percentage of all purchases on her website PriscillaPresley.com are donated to support these two charities that she picked.
