He went to Latymer Upper School located in Hammersmith and St. Johns Church of England School located in Lacey Green in Buckinghamshire as well as John Hampden Grammer School located in High Wycombe.
His interest in cooking started when he got a chance to visit the L’Oustau de Baumaniere restaurant which is a Michelin starred restaurant. The book, Les recettes originals, a French cook book was another inspiration for him which attracted him towards cooking. The book was written by Alain Chapel.
After leaving school he joined for apprenticeship in Raymond Blanc’s Le Manoir but left the place after a week. Later he picked up jobs of a repo man, credit collector and so on. He continued on these jobs for almost 10 years. Later after reading a book named On Food and Cooking: the Science and Lore of the Kitchen which was written by Harold McGee, he became interested in various techniques which can be implemented in cooking.
He got married to Zanna in the year 1989, later divorced her to marry Suzanne Pirret.
In 1995 he bought the pub called Ringers and converted it to The Fat Duck. He also opened another restaurant Dinner. In 2014 his new restaurant Perfectionists Cafe was opened.
