Nia Sioux is an American dancer and one of the regular competetors in a TV reality show called “Dance Moms”. In 2015 she released her first single named “Star in Your Own Life” which became a hit.
Early life:
Nia was born on June 20, 2001 in Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania to Evan and Holly Frazier. She is a middle child so she has two more siblings: her brothers William and Evan Frazier.
As a kid she loved music and dancing more then anything. She often entertained members of the family and guests with her performance. Everyone always found it cute, but nobody ever thought she could make a career out of it. They realized she is a huge talent when she started to make her own choreographies.
After she became more grown up she started listening to Beyonce and Janet Jackson. She also loved One Direction and oftenly danced to their songs.
When she was younger she was homeschooled but later she started going to school. It is interesting to say that she learned Mandarin Chinese at school. She was a pretty good student but had to spend more time with her dancing hobby.
Career development:
She was only three years old when she started dancing with Abby Lee Miller’s dance studio. She showed great talent from her early age.
Today she is studying at Debbie Allen Dance Academy and this is a huge chance for her.
She became a member of the cast of a reality TV competetion show called “Dance Moms”. She debuted at the show when she was only ten years old, in 2011.
Today Nia is the only remaining team member from the original lineup and she is the longest in the show. As one of the oldest she is settled at the bottom of the pyramide which upsets her mum Holly very much.
A year after, in 2012, she performed as a guest star in “Nightline” and “The View”.
The same year she got a scholarship as the most improved student. She was one of the brightest pupils in her class.
The dance competetion was very hard and it need a lot of hard work and practise. To stay in shape, Nia has to eat well because she dances 3 to 4 hours a day and it is very hard for her.
In 2014 she had her first acting and singing video gig in a short music video for a single sang by Todrick Hall called “Freaks like Me”.
2014-th brought her another award: she became Miss Sheer Talent in Las Vegas.
She performed her solo “Goodbye Maya” there and thrilled the judges and the public.
She is signed to The Aurelia Group, a known management agency. They are currently handling her gigs.
Nia released her first single called “Star in Your Own Life” in spring 2015. In the summer of the same year she released her second single “Slay feat. Coco Jones“.
She has her own app on iTunes called “Nia’s Nation” where she posts her pictures, behind the scene events and talks with her fans.
Nia has her own YouTube channel where she release her dance videos and her other creative work. She said that she would love to post more of her vlogs, sharing her love for animals and talk more about her daily life and chores.
The first dance video on that channel was called “Gone But Not Forgotten” and it was released in the summer of 2016. One month later she released “Shark”.
Personal life:
Her favorite hobby is cooking. He often helps her mum in baking. She says that she loves baking because she can be creative and, of course, eat later.
She loves sports too and she came to the purple belt in carate before she had to give it up for dancing. She has very good coordination and that’s probably the reason why she is a good dancer too.
Nia is a very talented girl – other than her great singing she also plays the piano and drumms. She has a great sense for music and overall is pretty talented in a lot of fields.
The media oftenly critised her mother because the girl seems to be a great student, very intellectualy developed and has a great sense for art. People said that she could’ve forced her daughter’s brain instead of letting the girl dance. However, many people believe that she did the right thing by letting her little girl do whatever she feels the most comfortable with.
Nia is brought up in a loving and proud family so she nourished those feelings for other too – she often performs for charity, f.e. for the patients with Reflex Neurovascular Dystrophy in the city hospital.
She always loved having pets around – she is surrounded by two dogs ( Henry and Olive) and three turtles. She loves to spend time with them and wishes that she was home more to spend more time playing with them.
There aren’t many informations about Nia’s romantic life. It seems that she spends all of her free time with her family and friends. She is a very good friend to two dancers in the show: Maddie and Mackenzie Ziegler.
There were rumours that she began dating Bryce Xavier, a known actor and a viloinist.
