Grant Masaru Imahara is from America and he is famous for hosting, for his IT related work and working as an engineer.

Early life:

Grant was born on the October 23rd in the year 1970. His birthplace, Los Angeles, is also the place where he spent most of his childhood.

There isn’t a lot of information on his early life since he got famous after he finished his school.

He finished the University of Southern California and got a degree in electrical engineering. His other passion was related to writing screens and he was always fluctuating between the two of his biggest interest.

He ended up staying in the science field.

All that we know is that he was a great student that always loved IT. He said that it was his favorite subject too.

Career development:

His career started when he was hired at the THX part of a company and he was in charge of the visual intercourses. He made visual effects and this job lasted almost a decade.

He was very good in his job and made effects for movies such as: Terminator 3, Attack of the Clones, Jurassic Park, The Matrix and even a few Star Wars movies.

He was a genius in his field in the time and lots of the best world producers wanted him to do their effects.

He sometimes makes cameo appearances which makes him very happy since he always had a thing for acting too. He just enjoys art in all of its forms.

He joined MythBusters later on in his career and he did this because a fellow friend of his (a producer too) invited him. He was a replacement for Scottie Chapman and therefore the third member of the team.

On the team, he was always the one with ideas and his friends call him the geek of the group. This doesn’t bother him.

He oftenly makes robots for movies and operates with the systems that others can’t deal with.

In 2014, he left the group along with Kari and Tory, his friends.

They decided go get involved in a project called White Rabbit Project.

He became a host for Netflix and hosted this show. The show’s name and the project’s name are the same.

The team on the show is researching various topics: bizarre items, various technology, jailbreaks, conspiracy theories and so on.

They explore about them and therefore people are usually very interested in seeing what these are about.

The first season streamed on Netflix in December 2016.

Besides working as a host and an engineer, he also works with robots a lot. Therefore he has created a robot of his called Deadblow.

He entered a show called BattleBots where these robots compete.

In 2004, he not only joined the story writers, but also joined the acting cast for the short filn Architects of Evil.

A lot of TV shows about technology have mentioned him and even IEEE Spectrum, a famous magazine in this niche, decided to interview him.

Imhara has had a lot of side projects he did by himself too. He made a robot called Geoff Peterson in 2010 and decided to make him voice controlled. This was something he was praised about for a long time.

In Star Trek Continues,  he acted as Mr. Sulu in 2013 and 2014. These were just two episodes he was involed in.

One of the famous projects he did was collaborating with Mouser Electronics. He made a whole campaign with them.

Personal life:

Around Christmas time of 2016, he got engaged with Jennifer Newman.

He said that this was one of the happiest moments in his life because she is, not only a friend, but also a very trustful girlfriend.

His friends often call him a nerd, but he doesn’t mind it. He says that he sometimes catches himself thinking such complex things that even he himself claims that he is a true nerd sometimes.

He wanted to become an actor at one point of his life and he is very happy that he still has the chance to act every once in a while besides the engineering he also loves.
